Skilled Migration

Have you got the necessary skill set to work in Australia? Do you want to reside in the country permanently?

In that case, go for a Skilled Migration visa: the most popular visa application pathway for skilled workers in Australia. And do you know the best part? It will allow you to have permanent residency in the country. This is however done by assessing your qualifications, previous work experience as well as language proficiency.

There are 2 major categories for point-based skilled migration. These include:

Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)

The individuals with this visa can reside in Australia indefinitely and are regarded as permanent Australian residents.

The primary criteria for the visa include;

  • Passing through an EOI process and scoring more than 65 to be invited for applying for the visa.

  • Having an occupation as per the relevant skilled occupation list.

  • Age of less than 45 years

  • Competency in the English language

  • Should meet the health and character requirements.

Skilled Nominated Visas (Subclass 190)

The visa is the same as sub-class 189, but the additional requirement is that the applicant must be nominated by an Australian government agency.

Other than this, the basic criteria is the same as subclass 189 visa.
